About the Author
Michael Catt has served as senior pastor of Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Georgia, since 1989 and is executive producer of the popular Facing the Giants and Fireproof films that originated from the congregation. He the author of Prepare for Rain, The Power of Desperation, The Power of Persistence and The Power of Surrender and the founder of the ReFRESH™ revival conference. Michael and his wife, Terri, have two children.

Pleasantly Surprised by this Book
Fireproof Y Life

When I first saw this book on the shelf at the local Christian bookstore, I honestly expected a sub-par effort at trying to capitalize on the release of the Fireproof movie. This is no reflection on the author, he seems to be a really good pastor. I just wondered whether this had been hastily put together in order to tie in quickly with the movie (releasing Sept. 26).
Having now read over half the book in one sitting, let me assure you that my expectations have been proven wrong. This is a well thought through, well delivered book. The pastor's/writer's conversational style of writing makes for an easy read and easy recollection. His clever one liners throughout the book are catchy!
All in all I think this book does well in expanding the application of the movie to not just marriages but our lives as a whole. The same points that the movie makes about marriages, Catt applies to our spiritual lives.
This is an encouraging and challenging book. I would suspect that it will not get a lot of wide-scale recognition, but if you're contemplating reading the book, go ahead and get it. I would be surprised if you're disappointed.

Great read!
This is an excellent book capitalizing on the theme from "Fireproof" the movie about fireproofing every single area of our lives. Michael Catt focuses not just on marriage, but also on finances, family, crisis, convictions, and more. If you want to be able to stand firm when the fires come, this book is a wonderful resource.
